These are a mix of different other keyframes that are included within the animation that havnt been outlines properly. the ones in blue and red are the two characters interacting and the demon tempting my main character which would result in him showing rage, which is showed in the first image. i have used reference from an anime called Jujutsu kaisen for this specific scene , however i plan on adding my own twist to it.
The pov of the demons face is when the character starts morphing into the main character.
kitchen background keyframes

These are the keyframes for the kitchen scene and my characters first encounter with himself( the demon).
i plan on adding a lot of mouth movements to this scene and have both the characters interact with each other. this will be the scene where the rising action takes place.
this is the new character design for the demon character. i kept the same outline/shape of the head as the first one , however in a more simplified version where it would be easier to draw.

keyframes- bathroom scene.

there will be a lot of added effects once this animation is semi complete .for now i will be focusing on the outlines of the character then colouring it in once everything is finalised.

INTERIM-1 presentation
For the interim 1 presentation i recieved a lot of feedback which was great to use for further development and change of approach .
The first few comments i received were about the backgrounds that i had drawn out and my tutors liked the idea that thats how i was deciding to start the animation. However they gave me another idea where i could have the character pop out of nowhere with no explanation leaving the viewers questioning why thats happening. and i liked that idea a lot so i took that into consideration.
second comment i received was about the demons character designs that i had drawn out. They really liked the style of the first one but thought it was too complex to draw out for each scene which i agreed with , since there are a lot of details to be drawn out, but i could simplify it and make sure it still does have that rarity in the design that hasn’t been done before but that its also easy to draw out whilst making the animation. They did like the second character design as well but it seems too generic and simple , since its been done multiple times so its not necessarily a different design , however they did understand that the reason why the second character resembles the main character is to show that this demon is somewhat the characters other self that hes been afraid of showing. my tutor thought if i did want to use that design i could make it more like a silhouette rather than a full coloured character , which i did like the idea off of but i didn’t know what else i could change from it to make it more scary or more pleasing to the viewers.
for the main character the only issue they had was if it was going to be too complex to draw out for each scene and if it would be too much work to make it as detailed as shown on slide 5.
And as for the artist reference, they really liked the black and white references i had used , and i was intending on making one specific scene of the animation all in black and white with one hint of colour . And they also liked deadsophisms art style , however the only problem with that would be the amount of detail that the artist adds such as shading and lighting , which was a worry for the time limit i have and seeing if i would be able to finish it in time.
with all this feedback i decided it would be best to rewrite my plan of action for the animation, style of the demon and also to see what else i could change about the animation to make it more unique.
this was the first initial research presentation that i worked on. this was to figure out what artist i wanted to use as reference for this animation.
These are some of the people i researched into and looked at that i thought might work for the style of animation im going for.
Background designs

These two background designs are the ones i first drew out in response to my storyboard . i thought if i added more than one colour that would juxtapose the chosen character designs colours. so i went with red and blue as contrast.
this was a very rough sketch/layout of how i wanted the scene to be.

since i wanted a character design that would be different from any of the other ones ive done , i went on pinterest to find reference photos that i thought would fit the theme pretty well. The 3 images that i used mainly for reference were the ones used in the corner. i decided to stay with subtle colours as well since i didn’t want to add anymore colours that might be distracting or add any extra that might become harder to colour in whilst drawing out the scenes in the animation.
But i wasnt very happy with just one design and i wanted to make more than one for the sake of character development . However i kept the same colour scheme but i decided to change the style of it more and work with what i was more comfortable with.

this was the second character design.

in order to understand how my storline will go and how the animation will be laid out , i drew out a rough planning sheet trying to understand where the rising action of the animation will be , where the middle lies and what happens during each scene and how the scene changes to make the final product and end scene.

once i had my rough planning set out , i decided to draw out a rough storyboard to play out what i want to happen oin each scene. and from my planning i have decided what was best in order to get the final message across would be to focus on something more subtle first and then add the rising action within the middle scene.
